Waterfront Park Suzhou Creek Shanghai The design of the park corresponds to the meandering riverbed of Suzhou Creek. Nature returns into the city by several ecological, streamlined islands. A meandering road at the northern border of the park functions as backbone and connects the different points of interest. One major aspect of the design was to integrate the existing industrial relicts into the new park and thus make the history of the place visible. A large riverside promenade is highlighting the water's edge; linear forest paths are connecting cultural and artistic sights, for example the museum of classic cars, sport and entertainment areas, the pier next to the Commercial Center, the „Water Plaza“ and the „Industrial Plaza“.
